Home away from home when I’m home
Published November 17th, 2005 in Librarianship, TravelStarting Monday (and interrupted only by Thanksgiving), I’ll be taking up a week-long residence at Hartford Coffee Company in beautiful Tower Grove South. I’ll be working on my final projects for Digital Libraries and Interface Design, but I always have time to chat with my friends, so drop on by.
On a totally different subject, I just stumbled across another title I want to check out when I have time :
- Policing Chinese Politics: A History, by Michael Dutton
I love cataloging for so many reasons, one of which is the satisfaction of creating an accurate and comprehensive surrogate record that allows users to find items easily. But selfishly, I love seeing what items are coming into the library, because in the midst of volumes and volumes of math and engineering texts and foreign-language materials, I’ll occasionally stumble across something that I really want to read.
