I posted this on my Flickr site a long time ago, but spurred on by one of my classes, I’ve finally gotten around to ripping a song to MP3 format — go here to listen to “Soo Cho Riverside” by Charlie and His Go-Go Boys. Make it all the way to the end and you’ll hear a surprising little musical quotation from another popular song of the day.
Update: Who knew that Charlie and His Go-Go Boys were so popular? Tofu magazine has two entire EPs worth of Hong Kong-style go-go free for the taking, including the band’s take on classics like “Wooly Bully,” “Satisfaction” and the ever popular “These Boots Are Made For Walking.” Crazy!
Can’t get the “Soo Cho Riverside” MP3 to play! Bummer! Next time we’re together I hope we have time for you to walk me through the playing process…. Why do always need so much hand holding with this stuff!
