Playing catch-up

I’ve spent the last week or so in Suzhou without access to an internet connection, and I haven’t missed it in the least. Because of this, however, I’ve been slow to post even the briefest of updates on my current trip to China. I’m also having a hard time posting photos to Flickr because of […]

Taking a short break from the China posting, I’d like to direct everyone’s attention to 025.431: The Dewey blog where, prompted by an email from the child wizard himself, they’re discussing where to list quidditch in the Dewey schedules.
Edit: And just for fun, here’s a photo a snapped at the Beijing Foreign Language Bookstore when […]

In country

It’s 4:49 PM in Beijing (3:49 A.M. Central Standard Time) and I’m feeling the full effects of jet lag. Three “Spawn” […]

Blogging about blogging

I don’t know what possessed me to start overhauling my site using a new content management system, but I started playing around with Wordpress today and have been impressed enough to spend a good deal of time adapting it to my existing blog template. I’ve only finished the main blog page, but feel free to […]

Chinatown, Chicago

Chinatown, Chicago, originally uploaded by Oldtasty.

I know it’s probably a visual cliche, but I really like this photo of Chicago’s Chinatown neighborhood with the Sears Tower hulking in the background.

A second test post

Well, it looks like I’m getting closer with the formatting of this page, though I still have to figure out how to get all that stuff over there lined up —->
Getting closer though.

A first crack at Wordpress

Wordpress lived up to its billing and the installation was super easy. I still need to figure out how to publish to two different blogs from the same installation, and how to publish to a directory other than the Wordpress install directory, but the part I was scared about is done. Of course, it’s folly […]
