It begins

Classes start tomorrow, and if reality hadn’t completely sunk in yet, it certainly has now: I just dropped $300+ on textbooks for this semester’s classes. Titles include:

  • Dismantling the Public Sphere : Situating and Sustaining Librarianship in the Age of the New Public Philosophy. John E. Buschman.

  • Reference and Information Services: An Introduction. Richard E. Bopp (Editor), Linda C. Smith (Editor).
  • Cataloging and Classification: An Introduction. Lois Mai Chan.
  • Essential Cataloguing. J. H. Bowman.
  • Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd edition, 2002 Revision.

I’ve already dug into the References and Information Services text and have no regrets about my decision thus far. I hope I feel the same way when I start working through the cataloging texts…
