Beijing’s backstreet bites

Stacy must be trying to lure me back to Beijing. Unless she’s just being cruel, there’s no other reason for her to send me a link to this article about Beijing street food.
I used to pick up a jian bing on my way to work in the morning, and on weekends I could run out to the market behind my apartment building and buy jidan guan bing, xiar bing and these little fried sweet potato balls that, when popped in the toaster oven for a couple of minutes, were the tastiest snack you’d ever want.
