Not a great night for progressives in the State of Missouri. Aside from all the stuff that Diatriber mentions in his post this morning, I was disappointed to see that Kirkwood residents declined to show any support whatsoever for the city’s public library. Not only did they turn down a proposed facilities expansion (which was kind of expected), but they also voted down a 9-cent property tax increase to defray operational costs. This would have been the library’s first funding increase since 1994 — nice going Kirkwood.
On the positive side, there were some swinging election-night parties happening all over town.
