China arrests popular Tibetan musicians
BEIJING (AFP) - Chinese state security officials have arrested a popular Tibetan singer and a composer, apparently because of the implicit political content of their music, an official said.
I’m by no means happy with the political climate in the United States right now, but at least you can’t get arrested for the political content of your art. Articles like this serve as potent reminders of just how important it is to protect the First Amendment from incremental attacks by craven, short-sighted politicians of any party affiliation.
