Subways and the New Year

After living a 10-minute walk away from the XiZhiMen subway stop for six months now, I’ve finally started using the damn thing to get around. No, it doesn’t cover a lot of places I want to go in Beijing, but it sure gets me closer, and it’s better than spending minutes on end stuck in a cab that smells a little… funny. In fact, I’ll be headed over to the east side of town for a nice, quiet New Year’s dinner in a few short minutes. And on that note, I’d like to wish everyone a very happy 2004. I hope it brings only the best for you and yours.

Can you hear me?
